#24 - Rust Removal

For a 25 year old vehicle it was in surprisingly good shape, but did have some rust on the under carriage. Most of the rust seemed to be superficial, but regardless I wanted to wire brush it down and slow the process as much as possible. This took several days of me laying on my back with a chisel and drill mounted wire brush attachments, followed by some phosphoric acid (converts rust to iron phosphate), and a rust reforming paint coat. Still wondering if it was worth all the effort, but it looks better if nothing else. haha.

One of the rear wheels was rusted to the drum, and I could not get it off. So before I could start the rust removal I had to improvise and put a scissor lift between the edge of the rim and the frame. After enough twists it finally broke loose. haha.
