#6 - Removing Rear Heater

The rear heater wouldn't work once the van was renovated, and was subsequently a big waste of space/ unnecessary weight. Removing it, though, wasn't a simple task. I had to drain the radiator and lines and splice the hose back together to complete a loop. The AC lines were rusted through and the AC didn't work, so I simply capped those lines.

Removing lines from underneath the van. A lot of clamps.

With the system drained and looped, I then flushed the radiator. After 9 flushes, at 3am in 10 degree weather, I finally decided to call it quits and fill with antifreeze. ha. It was still flushing light brown at that point, but it was substantially better than when it started. Not a great sign, as the van had probably been sitting idle a while with water in the radiator.

Generated 15 gallons of waste water and didn't have enough jugs, so had to use a garbage can temporarily until I found more. ha
